“Record Breaker”, Rule Breaker and self diagnosed Tourette Syndrome Sufferer - Kathy Griffin and a Record

There are plenty of reasons to like a fierce funny woman like Kathy Griffin.  The red headed funny diva has recently added one 45 minutes long one to the list as she snatched a title while doing it.

The title she snatched was that of being the Guinness World record certified person who has the most televised stand up comedy specials ever with 20 so far. Congratulations Kathy! And believe me: her latest TV special, simply called “Record breaker” (For obvious reasons!), did not disappoint. In 45 minutes we get a very distinct idea that being 53 does not mean setting it back and playing safe for Kathy. The special started off a bit slow as she gave us all the detailed info about her boyfriend who is about 18 years younger then her (Go girl!) and what she experienced during presenting at the prime time Emmy awards in 2013.  But she did not let us hang there as she quickly brought around an audience favorite, her 93-year-old alcoholic and frail mother Maggie Griffin. And Kathy of course (tricks) treats her mother to the MTV VMA’s and the #Twerpocalypse that was grinding Robin Thicke: Miley Cyrus. Imagine Maggie’s reaction to it! Priceless!

It gets better by the minute as Kathy then goes on and gives us all the dirty details about the “Walter White Gays”, scheduling sex, ice sculptures in penis forms and shit that goes down on a tender boat when she was on a gay cruise. Oh, and of course there is celebrities going down as she give us her thoughts on Leah Remini leaving scientology and working with (crazy nuthead) Kirstie Allie. Oh what a joy! But watch out Kathy! They might punch you in your no no parts! And finally the bitchfest culminates in yet another new fan letter Kathy gets from a devoted admirer from prison. Let me tell you: knowing that the man writing to her has worked on her house reconstruction and is now incarcerated does not hold Kathy from spilling all the crazy that is going on in this letter.

See, this is why Kathy has set up this record: she is fierce, funny and does not calm herself down. Perpetuating negativity it is. Don’t say you have been warned if you loose it while laughing yourself to tears!

"I Love Art" - Kathy "Betty" Griffin

As you do know I am ahuge fan of our favorite D-List queen Kathy Griffin. And back in the days she has done an amazing photoshoot with Mike Ruiz for his transformation series.

And as she has celebrated her birthday a few days ago, I think it is time to give Kathy another run in the spotlight. Besides that, my latest article for Vada Magazine has been treating Kathy Griffin as part of the "Holy Trinity of Gay Comedy". And if you have not yet read about it then go and do so! Right here! So now take a good hard look at this drawing and tell me that Kathy was right by saying: "Now I am staning here like this and even the gays are getting hard ones. Well, to the best of their abilities!" (Cause I definitly agree!)

"What the heck is this?" . Queer Theory and Kathy Griffin Part 3

Well, well, well. It is already Part  that is o the go to you of my essay on Kathy Griffin giving Hollywood a dressing down, D-List style. How she does it? She uses queer theory! And you should definitely know about that one!

Hello there! I hope you checked out the last part of this series since it is fucking good academic stuff! SO if you have not done so, go and do so right here on Icon Art Marilyn! What I am talking about? of course I am  talking about the Queer Studies essay I wrote on Kathy Griffin!

Last time I gave you the index page and the first 3 pages of this academic and comedic Bonanza about the fierce funny woman, now the next three are up! What is in there this time? Well it will be all about Queer as a theory and the beginning of defining what I call "The Hollywood Identity". So take out you library cards and put on your nerdy face! I am about to school you! "What the heck is this?" - Queer Theory and Kathy Griffin Part 1

Well, I am sure some of you might have noticed that I am currently enrolled at a university an that I am a student. One of my major fields of interest and study are queer studies, gender studies, performance studies and camp studies. I think as a strong supporter of the LGBT IQA cause in any country, by the way congratulations to the people in England and Wales who just recently passed gay marriage and made the world a more equal and great place, and as a strong supporter of the feminist movement, the democratic movement, human right movement and every goddamn necessary and good movement out there it would be best to devote my studies to these causes.

So last semester I wrote an essay to finish my course in queer studies called "Kathy Griffin Deconstructing the Hollywood Identity - Queer in Use". This one cost me lost of time and compassion, but not only my love for fierce funny female Kathy and her D-List cause (Kathy: Lets face it, when you land in academia you definitely are no longer D-List!) made me do this but also my deep belief in the fact that we need queer studies in order to slowly change our society for the better! (And not only for the LGBT IQA cause!) So I am gonna give to you the first part of this essay, to show you a little bit of the work I am doing, and to get you guys out there interested in queer and comedy! And since it is a 6-7 thousand word essay, you will get it in parts.... (might be easier!) So here is the first part consisting of the Index and the first 3 pages! Forgive me if there are any typos in there, i have not corrected it once more after i gave it to my professor. But good thing is: I got a 1,7!

I watch it, so should you! - Kathy Griffin "Calm Down Gurrl!"

Like I have announced in my last episode of "I watch it, so should you!" I was very much excited for Kathy Griffins new special: "Calm Down Gurrl!" which you can watch on YouTube! Since Kathy is a fierce bitch as usual and is merciless as she used to be always I will give you a short summary of the special.

In her best look that performer jumps out on stage like she is a jiggly ball. And she starts right now: Jodi Areas is following her on Twitter and Kathy eats it! I mean literally! Her twat has never been more busy! And we get the best sentence ever: "The gays will wait someone out!" when she talks about yummy Anderson Cooper! She works every notch and we get right to her and her 18 year younger boyfriend at Jane Fonda's birthday party! And there we get a little of Longoria and Streisand, I mean what is better? And let me say: She might be over 50 but she still is cursing like a seamen. And like Michelle Visage she is full of semen. Period. =) 

After we get the taste of that Kathy goes on about her boyfriend meeting her family for dinner while they pull down their well behaved masks. And this is some funny shit! I mean really! Oh and did I forget that we get an update on Kathy's dogs Larry and Pom Pom? Besides that Kathy discusses her grandmas vagina and her mother still swears as badly as her!

All I can say is that you must be preeeettty on Ceserp if you dont watch this, and then you would miss out on some seriously good comedy and funny swearing!

"I watch it, so should you!" - Kathy Griffins new special "Gurrl Calm Down"

Hey little Kath-eters! Team Griffin is back with Kathy Griffins newest smacking comedy special "Calm Down Gurl!"

Uhh Gurrl! I think we will have loads and loads of laughs on our hands if we see Kathys new comedy special "Calm Down Gurrl!"! And I am sure it is going to be hillarious! 

Rumors have said that the special includes Kathy calling Justin Bieber, that little gone crazy child, "A Thug". And I mean what is better than that? Hello!!!! This is so good! And also it is said to be a recordbreaking special. And I mean really? It is her 16th special on Bravo and this member of #TeamGriffin is super excited for this. 

And when it comes to the name Griffin explained that: "Why did I name my sixteenth stand up special 'Calm Down Gurrl?’ Have you seen Amanda Bynes’ latest selfie? Oh and GURRL is not gender specific. I would also apply that wisdom to both Lindsey Graham and Lindsay Lohan.”  She could not be more right.  These celebrity nutbags are cray cray and i dont mean the sort of good cray cray!

Kathy will be mercyless on everything and everybody and you can tune in to Bravo to see it yourself!

I read it, so should you! - World Book Day

A shoutout to all the bookworms out there! Today it is World Book Day! And you all should be pucking up a book right now! because opicking up books is way better than picking up beere. But if you pick up books like Homer Simpsons picks up beers you may have a serieous reading problem! ;) So on behalf of the World Book Day i will show you some of my favourite books lately, and i will hereby start a new segment on my blog called: "I read it, so should you!" So get ready, put out your library cards and join me on the magical journey to booksville!

Right at the beginning I'm gonna start with a light but very good book by a woman, who all of you would niot haveguessed taht she could write a good book, which i love very much: Kathy Griffin. And let me tell you, I am not a paid spokesperson, but this book is hillarious and extremely honest. And it is absolutely not sentimental: It has substance and its really worth reading. Its called: Kathy Griffin: Official Book Club Selection - A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin.

Basically the book is a memoir with autobiographical apsects. We get to know who Griffin was as a child and as a teenager. We get to learn from her family, her obsessions, her eating problems and her encounter with pop-culture. Very much teh book explains why she uis like she is today. We get a look in her family life and get to understand her parents. Then she makes the transgression to her life and how she got to where she is now, and very detailed deconstructs the entertainment industry along. Also she spares nothing from her marriage, her divorce and even her sex life, which believe me, is not that dead as you imagine it to be. Finally you get to see kathy like she is.. and she is no different than on Tv. She also opens up about her plastic surgery, her time on Suddelny Susan and her friendships. 

The book really is also written in great style an humorous, but also has very elaborate parts. Definitly a book to pick up! And next time on my reading list will be a bit more serious book. And by serious i mean fucking scary!

I Watch it, so should you! - Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List

Get out of my way, you A-List bores! My Prada shoes, are as good as yours! I work twice as hard to get half as far as you, cause there aint no ass to kiss, if you are living life on the D-List!

Hey Team Fancy! It is time for another episode of "I watch it, so should you!" So what I got for you this time is the amazing Emmy award winning reality series of Kathy Griffin: "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List"

The show has had 6 seasons on the network Bravo and every season of it has been nominated for an Emmy award. And by winning its first award it gave Kathy the possibility to stir up some shit during her acceptance speech. She said as followed:

"Now, a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus. He didn't help me a bit. If it was up to him, Cesar Millan would be up here petting that damn dog! So all I can say is suck it, Jesus, this award is my god now!"

So you can think of the controversy she stirred up! Anyways yu have to watch this show. It is really funny and very real. Its not some scripted fake shit like the Kardashian series. So what I can say to you is that on this series we have had: endless gigs, endless shit gigs, activism for the LGBTIQA community, jokes, her caring for charity, her whoring for publicity, her marriage, her divorce, the death of her dad, her mom, writing her book, winning her Emmys, opening a library in Mexico, dating Steve Wozniak, being in papers, performing in Iraq, performing in a prison , performing in someones kitchen, being at Paula Deens, endless press campaigns, having a public papsmeare , putting together a show for her mum and endless other things. So if this does not do it for you, i cannot help you! Just watch it, goddammit!  ;) So to get you started i got part one, of episode one, of season one  here for you:

Okay people lets cut the crap. We all know Oprah. And we know that she is a great person and so on blah blah blah. Fact is she does think she is bigger than Jesus, and yes i do have to admit that Kathy Griffin is right making a joke with Oprah getting a paper cut and screamin STIGMAAATAAAA. Thinking that she might have even picked the president of the US is funny but reqlly guys.... she might have picked. BAM. Oprah stamp of approval.

Soooo since the popes chair is "sede vacant" and the convoave beginning on tuesday we might see white smoke somming form the sistine chapels chimney after like 10 minutes or so. And exactly 1 second later we will hear it, all over the Vatican, Rome and half of Europe: GAAAAYYYYLEEE, I DID IIIIIIT! I AAAAMMM THAAAA PPOOOOOOOPPEEEE! And then she will remodel the church. And from then on every church member who is baptised will need to worship her, and OWN needs to be on 24/7. So them we are going to be oprahs bitch.

Well there are worse things to happen. Hahahah.

P.S.: Now i fear that Oprah will send Gayle to come over and kill me. I should probably call Kathy Griffin and ask for tips how not to get killed by Oprah, since she does a great job surviving the most powerful Hollywood couple: Oyle.(Oprah and Gayle)
