Icons are everywhere!

An icon is someone who makes an effort. Art makes an effort. Therefore art is an icon. Marilyn Monroe was and is an icon and a work of art as well. Hence Marilyn Monroe and art have a nature in common. Icon - Art - Marilyn is iconic.

I'm back!

Welcome, Bienvenue, Bonjour, and Willkommen to Cabaret!.... back to Icon  Art Marilyn.

I haven't been updating the blog for a while now as I fought some things called assignments and a dissertation to finish my BA degree. And as I have succeeded in this quest a couple of days ago, I figured it was about time to revive this project. So in the next couple of days there will be some new articles for you to enjoy, including a review of a little thing called "The Bangerz Tour" (Which I attended in Manchester), a review of the new Robyn music (Gosh, I love me some Robyn!) and eventually some bits and pieces of fiction aka. creative writing. So for now I will grab my cup of coffee, sit my sweet little ass down and get back to writing. Besides that I have an enormous amour of pop culture to catch up with. However, I'm still not keeping up with the Kardashians!

For today I may leave it with this, however, there is a chance I might have something for you later! So get into it!

Twerpocalypse 2013 - 20 Songs That Invaded My Ear - Part 2

As I have started the list of my Top 20 songs of 2013 yesterday, and gave you numbers 20 till 11, including the honorary mention and list widening number 21, now we will get down to buisness and crack the nut (I know, a bad Christmas joke, right?) Lets get this Twerpocalypse on the go!

#10 - "Trouble" by Natalia Kills from "Trouble" (2013)

Since she popped onto the scene of pop music Natali Kills has taken my heart by storm. And "Trouble", as the name giving song from her second album, is jut earcandy. And there aint no better gift Natalia could have made to her fans then her second studio album with a banging title track. Trouble begins as a slow song and then developes into this high energy overflower of a title track. Just a sing along and a perfect number 10.

#09 - "Girlfriend" by Icona Pop from "This Is... Icona Pop" (2013)

Icona Pop have taken the world by storm in 2013 and might be the best thing ever happened to electronic dance and pop music since Lady Gaga. Their song Girlfireind not only happened to be the song stuck in myy ear but as well my favorite song from their debut album "This is... Icona Pop".  Very light hearted but full of good vibe beat thunder "Girlfiend" may get off lesbian vibes, and that s good, but the two are not a couple.

#08 - "Womans World" by Cher from "Closer To The Truth" (2013)

Oh, what have we been gagging at the return of the Empress of Pop and Drak Lady herself! And "Womans World" is all taht we love about Cher She pulls out all disco, combines it with dance and maes it about femnism. What is not to absolutely adore about it? At the club it is a banger, for the car as wel and you simply can not help but to sing along!  And after all the music industry is a "Womans World" and Cher is the motherfucking empress!

#07 - "Close To You" by Neon Trees from "Picture Show" (2012)

One of my personal new discoveries of 2013 but a definite exception when it comes to the release date, "Close To You" is one of these tracks that make you want to cuddle your better half as hard as possible and never let go of that person. A bit melodramatic, a bit rock and a whole lot of feeling to it. A definite must in this playlist even if not released in this year.

#06 - "Do My Thang" by Miley Cyrus from "Bangerz" (2013)

BY now everyone should ave got the hint that 2013 maked the year of the #TWERPOCALYPSE. And who is guilty of bringing it upon us? Miley Cyrus. And hate on her or not but she definitely belongs on the list, especially with BAGNERZ really beein a good ablum. And "Do My Thang" definitely is my favorite track off that jam. It hits all the right notes and gets this mood out that says im cool, im here, i rap (even though I am white) and deal with it!

#05 - "Sexxx Dreams" by Lady Gaga from "ARTPOP" (2013)

I have been waiting for the new Gaga album forever and I was not disappointed as I heard it for the first tme. I fell immediately in love with "Sexxx Dreams" when she first performed it during her appearance at this years I-Tunes Festival. Slow, sensual, sexy, and seductive. That is waht makes "Sexxx Dreams" living up to its name. A killer hook that featurs one of the longest # ever (#WhenILayInBedITouchMyselfWhenIThinkOfYou) and a vibrant beat and guitar that should get everyone going.

#04 - "You're Not The One" by Sky Ferreira from "Night Time, My Time" (2013)

Sky prooved to be a real insider tip this year as she was kind of in the scene aready but her label seemed to not have taken so much interest into her. So it took forever to release her debut album "Night Time, My Time". "You're Not The One" is the lead single that really rocks the 80's elcetropop with huge indie waves and a great reminiscence of David Bowies "Low". A definite must have on everyones IPod as well as...

#03 - "Everything Is Embaressing" by Sky Ferreira from "Ghost EP" (2012)

...this song as it has really dominated my playlists this year.  Beeing the second exception on this list due to its release year it definitely is one of the great records of our time. Since Sky melancholy has never looked and sounded any better and we just love it. Witty, humorous and smart "Everything Is Embaressing" is a smart dance pop, funk number from the slow kind that gives you life while listening while it has a clear hint of this Lana Del Rey sadness. Probably one of the best songs this year, as it has been released as a single in 2013.

#02 - "Artpop" by Lady Gaga from "ARTPOP" (2013)

The title track of "ARTPOP" gives us what the whole concept of ARTPOP is all about: rawness, elctronic vibration and a hybrids of the unlikeliest kinds. Music wise the song gives us the full essence of the album as it flows all over the place with synth pop beats, edm influences and a high dose of out of this world sounds. "We could, we could belong together" and "Artpop could mean anything" give us the clear impression that Gaga will have more in stores for us with the whole concept of the reverse warholian experience.

#01 - "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus from "Bangerz" (2013)

The defnite song of the year is "We Can't Stop". Love it, hate it, despise it or adore it. There was no way one could escape this song in 2013. As Miley has made her debut in the adult music industry it is to be noticed that besides controvrsial lyris and a slighty shocking music video she has creatd her own brand of music: dirty south hip hop inspired pop with electronic nuances. "We Can't Stop" is a mid tempo pop song that had us all, you know you tried, twerking, if we can or can't. See? This number one is the #TWERPOCALYPSE i was talking about!

Thats it. Im off. Possibly twerking. #TWERPOCALYPSE

Twerpocalypse 2013 - 20 Songs That Invaded My Ear - Part 1

Man, this year has flown by like nothing. At least it feels like it, even though looking back it seemed so filled with big pop cultural moments like no other. So what better way to look at the passed year then starting a review of it that looks back by giving a list of the 20 songs that invaded my ear. So lets start the first part of the list, number 20 till 11!

Honorary Mention - "Sublime" by Raja (2012)

Raja, is season three winner of RuPauls Drag Race. Raja is known for her androgyneous, warrior type style of drag that dominates the runway. She might not be as known as Jinkx or Willam but Raja has this very mystical and daring personality. Sublime might be from 2012, and hence can only gets the "Honorary Mention", but it is such a great song with a concept music video that it just had to be part of this list. Because it is about that time, I am feeling so sublime.

#21 (Should Be On The List, But Not in the Top 20) - "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry feat. Juicy J. (2013)

As you may have noticed I was not what you call in love with Katy Perry's latest musical effort named PRISM. But there is one song on there that has made its way into my musical heart and that is Dark Horse. Maybe its ound like a chipmunk remix of something in the beginning but then turns into this vibrant beat thing with some funk musoc in it. Katy making it a mixture of singing and rapping and Juicy J really delivering a fitting rap end make up a bit for PRISM as a musical failure.

#20 - "Excuse My Rude by Jessie J from "Alive" (2013)

There is something about Jessie J's voice that mae you either wanna hate or love her. And with "Excuse My Rude" Jessie not only hits all the right notes, but as well is she rocking all the right lyrics. This song definitely says it all and say it best when simply stating "Excuse my rude, but I really fucking hate you!", I mean if we are honest there are a few people you would like to say that to. (I actually have a long list of such people!)

#19 - "The Stars Are Out Tonight" by David Bowie from "The Next Day" (2013)

Smooth, soothing ans sensual. These three words may describe this song best as it is a great song from an even greater and legendary musician. The song definitely reminds me of one of these old lounge act that stand n a stage in a small club and the leaad singer makes love to the mic. What is not to love about that? Exactly! And even better is the music video starring Bowie himself and Tilda Swinton. #Legendary

#18 - "Bad Girls" by M.I.A. from Matangi (2013)

M.I.A. is a very well known symbol for hip hop and rap that is not kept in boundaries. And that is seldom in the buisness since hip hop has always been about stereotyper, heteronormativity and the American Way. So what distinguishes M.I.A. and "Bad Girls" from it is that she manages it perfectly to mix in oriental flair and sounds without loosing thedgyness of the new electronic hip hop wave. That song definitively is one of my favorites for driving in my car.

#17 - "#BlurredBynes" by Detox, Willam & Vicky Vox (2013)

Robin Thickes "Blurred Lines" was such a horrible song that it definitely deserved to be parodies an taken to the realm of funny. And along there comes a bunch of witty and funny queens that make this one their own. "#BlurredBynes" is as much a parody of "Blurred Lines" as itis making fun of Amanda Bynes, supportng Amanda Bynes and making fun of absolutely anyone and anything. Besides amazing drag looks, sickening lyrics we get some of the greatest hashtags ever! #VAGINACIDE #SRSLYSYRIA

#GETITRIGHT – Miley = Shocking, I don’t think so!

Let’s cut the crap: We all had our fair share of time and opportunities at our hands to bitch, moan and rant about all things post-Disney Miley Cyrus. And that includes twerking, nudity, tongue sticking and riding a wrecking ball naked.  But actually the time has come to take the bitch mas down, lay it aside and have an informed and smart look on the work of this 20 year old "fresh & new" artist, and not see her as a Hannah Montanna follow up program.

The first real insight we get into the actual ways of how Miley thinks and creates her career has been granted to us in the MTV documentation "Miley: The Movement". Throughout the glamorous interviews, you know: the ones with the good lightening and make-up, the ones that give you this Barbara Walters feeling and moment, we actually get to discover that there is more to the tongue we all have seen, grown tired of and hate now. This young lady is a genuinely hard working artist who in fact wants to do one thing in fact: to be taken seriously as an artist. And serious might be the word that could be hard to live up to for Miley. But the question is: Why?

First of all let’s ask ourselves the question of what Miley is. She is a pop musician. Therefore she has to compete in the realm of pop and genres that border with it. And with pop being, probably, the most competitive genre she has to bring it. The pop business is sex obsessed, body focused, fast and an arena where everyone wants to be the attraction in the spotlight. So if you want to be taken seriously you have to stick out, be different and dare to be controversial. Otherwise you won’t make the headlines. Let’s roll up the thing from the point of Mileys most controversial live performance yet: the MTV VMA 2013 performance of "We Can't Stop". If we “read” the performance without letting our jaws fall to the ground and the ranting, and really have a deep look at it we discover that in fact it shows one thing: the crack in the understanding and perception between Miley and her work and the public and her work. She comes out on stage inside a huge teddy bear with, emerges from it in a teddy bear fashioned body, her hair with this ridiculous two “whatevers” and flat plateau shoes that blink with every step. Very 90’s and very unsexy, yet revealing. Then, having gotten rid of her body, she, now dressed in skin colored latex panties and bra, twerked on Robin Thicke, used a foam finger to grind his junk and sticked it between her legs. Oh yeah, the tongue was there as well. #InterestingYetDisturbing.

But all the media talked about was how overly sexualized and eroticized the performance was. Really: That was overly sexual and eroticized? I would rather say it was not. If someone considers this to be a serious attempt at sexy this person should get a reality check. It is like Miley said it in the documentation: The intend never was to be sexy. I mean, that should have been obvious to the viewers. Dancing teddy’s, that outfit and the rather androgynous look that Miley has scream parody rather than Moulin Rouge. And putting on a sex show is pretty easy for the pop ladies. And a sex filled show is what we actually would expect. And BAM: we get the parody of a sexy pop show. We get a show that is so ridiculously oversexualized to the absurdity of the level of our demand for it. The actual shock is not in the fact that she is twerking for us in skin colored latex, or that she is just 20. The real shock is that we, unknowingly, find our own demands repulsive. Stick our demand for a sex show in our face in a parody manner and you will see faces in the audience that make headlines! And, lesbe-honoest here, that does not set us, as general public of the western world, into a good light. Narrowed down we are sex focused and simple minded. #SNAP

So why don’t we take her serious then? I mean what could be more a serious comment on expectations and sexuality in pop performances then such an parody of it? Well, I guess it still is the curse of Hannah Montanna.

But, whether you like her or hate her, please stop going on and on about how she is a bad role model, ruining the youth and ruining herself. Miley is 20 years old. What did you do in your 20’s in the clubs? One thing you sure did not do was sitting there and complaining about the loud music, not dancing and being negative. Of course she will go wild and freakdance! That is not what I call a bad role model, I would rather call it normal 20 year old behavior. I don’t see that she is a bad influence. She looks healthy, she works hard, she is a successful business woman and is nice to her fans. Has she been on drugs, alcohol and Purple Drank all the time? No. I would say Justin Bieber is far worse than Miley at this point. Las but not least let me tell you that twerking and tongue are, both, not shocking at all. I mean, haven’t we all sticked our tongues out way too much and twerked even though we can’t? And if not: Ever heard of scandal for publicity?

Hate her, love her, despise her, adore her or do whatever you want: Her new album BANGERZ is at number one, she makes the buck, travels the world and does what she wants. (By the way: BANGERZ actually is a good album, I was surprised myself!) If she is not your kind of WOMAN (She is no girl anymore!) then just don’t talk about her. You should always remember: It takes a certain amount of fucks to give to talk about something. If you really have no fucks to give, then just don’t talk if you are not directly asked about the matter. #DoYaThang

"Music Minute" - #BANGERZ Whooped our Asses! - A Track by Track Review

Well, you sure do know that I love me some after Disney Miley Cyrus, and yes by that I mean that I take her with her weird tongue and her sometimes ridiculous twerking. And now the bitch has set BANGREZ free for streaming on iTunes, and of course I am gonna review it track by track! So hit it!

First off, the album covers. There are 6 possible album covers for BANGERZ. And, all of them are great and I really like them, I would choose number 2 and number 4 my favorites. But this is not set in stone, and never will be since I love the concept of the cover. It has something trashy and hipster to it with a vibrant 80's feeling. The neon sign for BANGERZ is one of the best ideas I have ever seen to spell an album title. And in defense of cover number three, all I can say is: Grow up, and get used to some skin. I mean its common in pop to be revealing. There you go!

Okay lets start this review off and go right trough BANGERZ, track by track.

01. Adore You

Wow! It is a strong thing to start off an album called BANGERZ with such a slow song, that on top off all is a ballad. No tongue, no twerking & no party on this one. The song is beautiful and really ensures that the listener knows from the very beginning of the album that this is really a record from an adult, and no Hanna Montanna in sight. Could be seen as an love ode to former fiance Liam Hemswortth and is lyrically seen just very smart. I like it and it definitly is a strong opener. A 9/10 for the beginning makes the song a true banger in the rating!

02. We Cant Stop

Love it. Have twerked, danced, showered, driven car and whatever to it.  My jam. If you want to get a deep review of it check it out here! Definitely a 10/10 on my scale!

03. SMS (Bangerz) (Feat. Britney Spears)

Uhm that one sure in a BANGERZ song! I mean Brit and Miley: Hell Yeah! Miley sure has the voice for it, allthough it sounds a bit forced. But to pull off lyrics as "They ask me how I keep a man / I keep a battery pack" you have to have balls, and Miley might have big ones. I like the dirty sexy vibe of the song and the Brit part sets it on fire! A great song for party and sexy time, but its questionably if im gonna like it after 100 spins so "just" 8,5/10. But still: WHOAH! And fuck to all those who say its sounds bad, cause it does not!!

04. 4x4 (Feat. Nelly)

Hell the girl puts it up! This one is an electro pop country song that has something funny to it, and Miles voice really comes to carry. Its unexpected and fun and has great lyrics as well, when Miley declares herself a female rebel. And by that she aint that wrong, I mean media claim her to be rebellious. The Nelly part is even better, and her sure raps her out, but he is Nelly and this is Mileys first grab on hip hop and rap. The song in general gets a 8/10 from me.

05. My Darlin' (Feat. Future)

First one on BANGERZ that has something to it that is not for me. This one at parts really is too slow. But its so nice that she explores anoter genre already when it comes to ballads. But here you seem to already know that Miley does so much about love and her relation that you thing: "Jeez, thats hopefully the last Liam H. referenced song!" - And no it isnt. But still a very solid and enjoyable song that deserves a good 7,5/10.

"Music Minute" - It did get me like a WRECKING BALL

So lets continue with the Miley mania here on Icon Art Marilyn. After "We Cant Stop" conquered my speakers and the video has kept my eyes prisoners Miley brought us her newest single "Wrecking Ball" two weeks ago, and now hits reload with a Terry Richardson directed video.

Let's just start with the song. First off: I am not a big fan of ballads, and they have to be very good that I like them. And Wrecking Ball is just that good. It has feeing, it is pop like and still its has the rock thing to it. Even though the lyrics are not that complex they still are great to sing along and has something to it with the imagery of the wrecking ball. As well: It sounds sophisticated. Say what you will. the topic is a grown up one and she definitely sings to Liam Hemsworth and her vocals are just amazingly good. I mean what is not to love and adore about it?

So lets get to the video. It is plain simple and basically just has one set. And this one is very much how I like it: raw.  The only "outfit" Miley wears is white panty and a crop top with lilac-ish red boots. And she is rocking the hairstyle! Gurrl has probably found a stylist other than the one that dug out her VMA red carpet outfit! And at the very beginning we see her gorgeous androgynous face and her steel blue yes, as she sings into the camera. Very minimalist and grown up but still very sexy. As the video goes on Miley licks a huge hammer and swings from here to there on the wrecking ball, that has smashed the brick walls around her. Grinding around and laying on the leftovers of the wall, ,like its a sexy playboy shoot, we get Miley even more nude then in the "We Cant Stop" video: She sits on the Wrecking Ball, completely naked. my thoughts on that: (1) Gurrl got a bangin bod, (2) gurrl got itsy bitsy teeny tine titties (which is A-OK), (3) looks kinda young, (4) very tomboy-ish and (5) really is showing that she ain't like 16 anymore. And you know what? I don't find this to be shocking. I man we are used to nudity everywhere but, suddenly, when a former Disney teen doe it its bad? What's with the bigotry. She is an adult. Let her decide! Goddammit!

All put together I like that she takes a more serious and slowed down road after the "We Cant Stop" time. I mean, don't get me wrong, I obviously love it. But this other style gives us a hint that she can do different styles. And such a straight up ballad is a good way to so so. Oh by by the way, gurrl has given us the track list for the normal version of BANGERZ!

The MTV VMA's - "Try too hard" meets "forgettable" and a few good moments.

Well, well there were the MTV VMAs and I have to say the motto must have been: "Try too hard!", "Awkward and ashamed!" and "Some great performances." And well it was so awkward!

Okay guys the performance of Gaga was off the hook. It was amazing since it incorporated all her previous styles. And her stage was "amaza-bells". But one critique point would be her voice. It was a little off. But still the best performance of the night. How did her wigs stay on, and has she become some sort of magician that that last wig fitted so perfectly? WTF? I guess there were like 5 people behind that huge white prop to get that wig on in 5 seconds. And her figure in that slim down bod and seashell bikini. Wooop Woop! And the best is her defending One Direction after they get booed for winning the VMA for Best Summer Song. That is classy. I mean, she just stood up and left. Oh and that pink cup she drank from? WTF? That was a swine nose. Perez Hilton bash much? Oh yes Gurrl! And her look on the red carpet? Gorgeous, except for that bow, and you can see that the lace from her wig was glued on bad. Could have been better. But basically she was the show-stealer.

Well lets come to the worst of the night. I love my post-Disney Miley, and I have pre-ordered Bangerz yesterday, but that performance of her was just bad. All the teddy bears, the outfit, and her red carpet outfit as well, her dancing and her tongue sticking out. Oh my god. Miley, there is a difference between sexy-ugly/fashionable-ugly and ugly-ugly. And yes: It is appropriate to use the word skank here. And the twerking  she gave: Well we know she likes it but she is not the twerk queen. And that half lap dance with super awkward, and not very feminist, Robin Thicke during his performance of his, silly and women degrading, song Blurred Lines really threw me off. Miley, get some glasses if the lines are blurred for you. But this time you crossed the line!

What I really loved was the pro LGBT tone the show had. With Macklemore giving his performance of Same Love I was more then satisfied. Actually it gave me chills to see it and made me proud of being a member of the LGBT IQA community. But his gestures were so damn of. And I really loved that Jennifer Hudson joined them on stage, even though she looked like Alisha Keys.

When it comes to Katy Perry I was so disappointed. Her leo print dress: ugly. Her grillz: ugly and a joke at her expense. Her hair: the only thing not totally ridiculous. Her performance of Roar: forgettable and boring. But she sang kinda good, so I will give it a mediocre, and send it along its way. And by the way: the Brooklyn bridge thing did not do it for me, even the people there seemed bored. #SorryBoutIt, we know Kathy can do better.

This years fashion was a mixture of "Oh my god, how ugly" and very stylish, classic dresses. Best dressed would be split between Rita Ora, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez in that marvellous atelier Versace and Ciara. Ugly as fuck definitely goes to Miley's outfit and worst dressed also goes to the Smith kids, damn: get a stylist, and I was not a fan of the way Taylor Swift's hair missed a piece to cover a bit of her forehead. But whatever. The whole award show wont be legendary, and that is a shame since it was the shows 30th anniversary!  And the other performance there uhm.. Kanye: forgettable. Were there any others? Oh yes the Justin  and NSYNC. Too much. Also the video of the year thing for him: Not so much. But he kinda still deserves it. All I had eyes fro was Lance Bass.

Oh and yes, there were people winning awards, so lets see if my predictions that I made earlier were right: For video of the year I said Macklemore, but it went to JT. I can live with that. That Macklemore won best hip hop is so okay with me, in fact I could not be happier, but i guessed ASAP or Kendrick to take it. Best male went to Bruno Mars, I did not see that coming, but I don't care since no one really cares. Best female went to Taylor Swift. Don't like that CeeUNextTuesday. (Even though her dress was great.) Expected P!nk to win. Best Pop video went to Selena, Im okay with that, especially after that Miley performance. Artist to watch was taken by Austin Mahone. Fuck that lil Bieber 2.0, his music is shitty cheap crap. Iggy Azealia should have taken this one home! Best collaboration went to P!nk , an well this one I guessed right. And best video with a social message went, as I predicted, to Macklemore.

"I Love Art!" - "You better Party!" says Miley!

On this point I don't think that I have to explain why I chose to draw Miley Cyrus. So just take the drawing of her I did and enjoy it. Fashionwise I am pretty fine with the sunglasses I drew, or better said the ones that she had chosen to wear in her music video to "We Cant Stop".

So la la li la di, Miley like sto party!

"I Love Art!" - Miley sure knows how to werk that boody for a twerk!

She Can't stop. Since Miley Cyrus has released her new song and video "We Can't Stop" I have watched the video quite a few ties. And due to its DOPE nature and crazy looks and overall conception I decided to do some drawing  on this one. So here is the outcome of what i call the "I Can't stop listening to "We Can't Stop" session!" Enjoy!

Forget that Miley was a Disney princess once and TWERK, because that is
what she does in such a bootylicious way. Not bad!
Miley has sure grown up to be a music force to be reckoned with, even though the promotional campaign for "We Can't Stop" is somewhere between genius and disastrous!

"Just in!" & "Music Minute" - Dancing with Miley, or with Molly?

"So la la li la di, we like to party, dancing with _____!" So fill in the blank, because apparently Miley Cyrus has caused it that all the media is going nuts about this "fill in the blank line" from her latest single "We Cant Stop" which I have already written about on Icon Art Marilyn. The thing that is so terrifying is that Miley could either have sung dancing with Miley, or with Molly!

Music Video still  belongs to RCA Records.
Oh yes Molly! For those of you who don't know what "Dancing with Molly" means here is your definition: Dancing with Molly means that you take ecstasy and then go party while you are high. Uhm, Im sorry but that is just so.... not shocking for me. Oh my god She has said it! If I remember correctly Madonna has also at some point in some song referenced the drug, and Miley says that in the song she sings "Dancing with Miley" so calm the fuck down! I mean really? She just sings it, and that does not mean that you will find her stuffing ecstasy into her body 24/7 and being a drug addicted mess. And do you really think that this will increase the use of ecstasy, and make everyone that hears the sing and knows the meaning of "Molly" go and have some? B*tch please!

Its time that a sentence just is a sentence because my counter says I have listened to the song or over 70 times by now and I certainly don't feel the urge to go and have a dance with Molly! I have to say that this is a song about party and in such a song of course there will be made some references, but hello: the song is called "We  Cant Stop"! Irony? And the heat Miss Cyrus gets for that is just a result of (1) the fact that she is a former Disney pinky pie sweetheart and (2) that some stupid people thing all the kids will be "mollying" it up due to that song. I mean, get real! Most of the kids listening to that might not even know that Molly is not just a name. And on the other hand side, you know that all of them papers and magazines hating on her will make her song go through the roof!

So get over it and TWERK!

"Music Minute" - Miley Cyrus "We Cant Stop"

Okay I have to admit that I never ever had thought that I would be writing about Miley Cyrus on my blog. But it has come to the point that I have to freely admit that I really love what Miley has put on her feet. Her lead single "We Cant Stop", of the yet unnamed fourth studio album, has taken me by storm and since the music video has been released I am even more in love with it!

Picture belongs to RCA Records.
That little Miley has all grown up and finally leaves the Disney girly girl behind herself is no new thing. But that shed make such a huge step with this one record. I would not have put my money on that! But hello! She did it! The song is mid tempo pop with some electronic vibe to it. But still it has that catchieness that you'd expect a pop song to have. The lyrics are also a bit revolting and everyone screams that there might be a cocaine reference in there. But i just have to say that I don't give a shit!

And like everywhere on the trash and celebrity pages they brag about the overly sexy tone, ad that it is inappropriate and everything. I mean this is some kind of bullshit, since I think it is just a song, and in my opinion it is just that they say it because once Miley Cyrus has been a Disney Star, and now, with "W Cant Stop", she finally has broken that pattern, and exactly that is what they do not like.

But go for yourselves and check out the video and the song. I just can say that I absolutely love and adore it. "We Cant Stop" or better said, I cant stop listening!

Passion For Fashion: 2013 MET Gala - Punk Revival

Like every year Anna Wintour and Vogue Magazine invited everyone with a name in the entertainment, music and fashion world to come and celebrate the MET Costume Institute exhibition. This years topic was punk revival.

In this episode of "Passion for Fashion" e will have a look at some of the outfits the stars wore on the red carpet. As a disclaimer I have to say that i do not own these pictures. They are just snapshots of websites. I will give the sources below the pictures.

But lets dive right in with best dressed of the evening. This award goes out to 2 foxy ladies, because they both were extremely fierce! These two were Hunger Games star and Oscar winner: Jennifer Lawrence and No Doubt singer and fashion designer & icon: Gwen Stefani!

I'm not sure about the designer of Gwen's Dress, but i like that she put punk to a glamorous level. The combination of the black bow top and the white skirt bottom part is a nice contrast and her platinum hair befits the outfit. Its a little rebellion that is going on, but i´t is so glamorous! And Jennifers dress is clearly Dior. I mean its not punk but it is amazing! What is really nice is the hairnet she added a a headpiece! The shoes she choose are really simple and the dress really stads out. But her posing still need some more practice!Well done ladies! (Or thumbs up stylists!)

Right from the best dressed of the night to the absolutely worst dressed list, I mean that is what it is really all about. Here are the absolutely worst dressed on the red carpet.

#1 Miss Carter - Beyonce'

That dress might be fierce at first look, but definitly its fierce gone wrong. Very wrong. I mean B, have you took a look in the mirror before you left the house! The design looks like Givenchy. But the worst: The boots. i mean have you seen them? The cause eye cancer! Anyway! Sorry B, but this time its a #Fashion Fail!

#2 Teen Queen - Miley Cyrus

Sorry Miley! I like your haircut, but not in tis style! And the dress. I mean its nice.. on someone else! For that dress you need long hair! And please: The topic was pun, i know but that is no reason to look like this!

#3 Kim Kardashian

As Joan Rivers would probaby say: UGLY, UGLY, UGLY!

And now my favorites in different topics:

Best WOW Effect:

Anne Hathaway

Just 3 words. Blone. Amazing. Fierce!

WORST Golden Fail:

Katy Perry

If you google "Too much" you will see Katy in this outfit!

UNDECIDED Category.

Madonna

Photo from Madonnas Facebook page.
I mean don't get me wrong, i love the ensemble, but it looks a lil weird on her. Also its a bit too young for her, but she still is Madonna. But: FIERCE!

WORST OUTFIT THAT BITCH COULD HAVE PICKED

Anna Wintour.

Here is the prove that fashions high priestess Anna Wintour does fashion mistakes, because this dress makes her look like an idiot, an like Kim Kardashian, which she hates. Ugly!  (But is still like Wintour!)

In summary i have to say that there were tons of other great and also disastrous dresses this evening, but these were the ones that really stood out. Bt truth is: Fashion needs to turn away from ratchet patterns and this ratchet shit! And: the fashion world is in need for Lady Gaga to some back. Because she is one of the few people who actually can wear crazy dresses!
