Icons are everywhere!

An icon is someone who makes an effort. Art makes an effort. Therefore art is an icon. Marilyn Monroe was and is an icon and a work of art as well. Hence Marilyn Monroe and art have a nature in common. Icon - Art - Marilyn is iconic.

"Just in!" - Barbie Breakout silences herself and speaks out louder then ever!

Hey there! At first I wanted to write about a new TV series I am addicted to, but ten, scrawling through the internet, I have found a disturbing and extremely important video for the LGBT IQA community. I think that all of you are aware of the horrible situation the LGBT IQA community of Russia has to face right now.

And with exactly that situation the video, which I have found, deals. In the video we can see, I alledge either drag queen or just a person expressing his/hers gender bending (Which I absolutely love, by the way!), named Barbie Breakout. I will form here on go by she, just to make it easier. She is just sitting there and she is sewing her mouth with six stitches! Ouch! That must hurt, but the real question is, why she is doing that? Of course she is doing it to  give us a wake us call, or sew, to make us aware of the LGBT IQA situation in Russia. Russia has created a law that denies rights or so to LGBT people. (Look, I do not really know all the detail on this law, but what I know is that it is homophobic,, against human rights and ridiculous!) And exactly this leads to torture, humiliation and incarceration of these people, their families and their friends. And with sewing her mouth she wants to makes us aware of the situation, speak up against this law, help where we can , protest as often as possible and support the community! And I have to say that what she did was one of the bravest things I have ever seen anywhere. But also it indicates how painful the situation must be, how hurt one must be, to take such measures. Because, let me tell you, that must have hurt, and I hope she is fine right now. Bless you Barbie Breakout!

ARTPOP - Applause will mark her artistic rebirth!

Lately I have written like five posts about Lady Gaga and what things she is about to release and what I think we will se coming. But with last nights revelation of her new single cover art work, and her first interview with the world since six months we get a deeper inside of what ARTPOP and Applause will be like.

Well of course I will put first things first and talk about the most obvious: the cover for her new single Applause, to be released on August 19th. As we can see it is a totally different approach to a cover art then we know from Gaga. If you think of her usual covers, no matter if album or single, tis one does not quite fit the grid. It is first of all white, and never before has there been a cover that has had so much white. Her covers normally are dar and have that edge of violence, power and sex. Bit that white and theatrical, make up smeared and puppet like image wows the community of little monsters once more. if we go in deeper we of course have the chalk white based face. It is like an empty canvas, on which make up is smeared. A deep blue and a fiery fierce orange contrast. Her eyer have a very starring attitude and seem to directly address the viewer. Her hair is caught behind the black turban, and her face surrounded by some white coat. Somehow the cover reminds me of a clown, but in other ways it is almost a reinterpretation of a puppet from a puppet theater, since it is some kind of lifeless. Additionally I am hugely reminded of Picasso and his interpretations of women. Important to notice as well is that there is a resemblance to this picture to classical ballet and performance art. Closing off the picture is underlined with the hand written line "lady gaga applause". The handwriting is very unusual as well, since in the Born This way time Gaga has used either bold fat capitalized letters or edgy writing. definitely a new approach. The whole cover comes off as a painting since it is surrounded by that black line, which would emphasize ARTPOP's most obvious message: the exchange between pop and art.

When it comes to the interview Gaga gave "Women's Wear Daily" she really lets us view deep into ARTPOP and how it really is concepted. She says that it has been worked on for the last 6 months, and she has started from a blank canvas. ATPOP also seems to be about beauty and especially feeling comfortable with your natural side of beauty. She, in my opinion, finally expresses the deepest thought of Born This Way, expresses the inner regions of her, and really brings them outside and makes herself vulnerable, bare and naked. This bare and naked theme has also been reflected in what we have seen until now from ARTPOP images. But she gives us a clear saying that ARTPOP is not a phase to be pinned down by the style of one image or single cover. Not every image defines an era, she just says it is the captured momentum we get to see. The article is headed by a quote, simply telling us: "Gaga: I am every Icon". And what might sound a little to full of herself might be the best way to bring that image she wants us to see and analyze out there. ARTPOP is less about sheer consumption and warholian repetition like "The Fame", less about cultivating deep dark things than "The Fame Monster"  and more then sheer involvement then "Born This Way". When she is asked to explain the single cover, to explain the story behind it, she answers that the interviewer should analyze it first, otherwise it would not be art. And she is right about that. What points out is the "command" to not only consume, create and recreate the seen, heard and experienced by rather to analyze, deconstruct and understand deeply the message behind this and enjoy the craft as  a construct: art.

Concerning applause she gives away that the video was directed by Inez Vinoodh, as well as her cover shoot for V magazine was done by them. The master class of art in collaboration with the master class of pop. Well that really gives us the reminder ARTPOP is about the clash and collaboration, exchange and work of art and pop together, or as Gaga would probably put it. "When Pop sucks the tits of Art!" What is so interesting about the collaboration is that Gaga stated that she never felt beautiful before she was shot by Inez Vinoodh, which brings up the question: will there be the answer to the question of what beauty really is in this album? Probably not, but wouldn't that be beautiful in its own way?

ARTPOP - She has taken twitter again!

Okay cut the crap, I have decided that ARTPOP is genius! You want to know why? Well I can tell with a few sentences. So lets start right off!

Lady Gaga has taken her twitter and updated her cover photography and just by doing so she has created a storm of things in the twitter-sphere. The photo she has uploaded shows her sitting naked on a chair build from computer parts. And the promotional poster she had released weeks ago has shown her without make-up etc. announcing ARTPOP. Well from all that I guess that ARTPOP will be all about the fusion of technology and the natural body, technology and the body melting together, it will be about the idea of technological body enhancement and the question of how to stay human in a highly technologized world. If you still don't believe me, check out the photograph! Oh and by the way: Gaga has been announced to make her stage comeback at this years MTV VMAS, well then I got a reason to watch!

Picture belongs to Lady Gaga, taken from her twitter account.

"Music Minute" - The Venus has come back, sweetening our summer!

Hello and welcome to a new episode of "Music Minute": Oh yeah the new track of one of my favorite new female fierce hip hop artists has landed. Of course I am talking about the new Azealia Banks track she created in collaboration with Paul Oakenfold, who probably is best known for his remixes of Madonna songs. (Well, to me he is!)

The song, that has been playing up and down on my computer since it came out, is called Venus. Alrighty: Already the title has bought me. I mean Venus is genius to chose as a title since it reminds me of that drawing of a girl standing inside a huge shell, covering her breasts with her hands and her peesh, or whatever you want to name a pussy in an "elegant" way, is covered by some sort of big ass piece of fabric hold by lil baby angels. Well hurray to the strategic placement of fabric!

The song is a mixture of pop tunes with the typical electronic mix up, but when Azealia goes into her hip hip thing and raps the fast shit out of the lyrics you definitely see, oh excuse me, hear that witch hop thing she brought up. Also we have some hypnotic club beats with bouncing bass and sheer orgasmicly good placed clapping sounds. The cherry on top is the part recurring part of the song where Azealia sings in French. And hell yes: I think it sound so sex if an American speaks french! I know that now probably half of France is after me with pitchforks and torches as if I am Frankensteins monster, since these people think most Americans rape French rather then speaking it. But so what ever!

From my opinion I can only say that as the, maybe, second single form Azealias upcoming album "Broke With Expensive Taste" Venus really delivered for me! It could be her best song since her smashing "212" (Sorry "Yung Rapunxel"!) So go and by that song or listen the shit out of it everywhere you can, since it will make your summer better! I know it has made mine better since all I can do is lay around, doing my reading for university and try not to move, so I don't melt away from the 35 degrees Celsius!

"What the heck is that?" - Queer Theory and Kathy Griffin Part 5

And already it is the final part of my essay series of Kathy Griffin and Queer Theory so just enjoy it this time! I wont give you any further information, because if you don't know anything about that, well the I have failed you =)!

"I Love Art" - Don't Hate Me Because I Am Beautiful

Yes! Finally I have been able to take some time off and was able to draw a nice new picture of my favorite icon: Miss Marilyn Monroe! So let the art awe you!

I thought about the classical age of glamour and of course the first image that popped to my head was the picture of Marilyn Monroe when she was starring alongside Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall in "How to marry a Millionaire?" Despite the fact that her role was a bit of a dumb blonde Monroe had fun on set of the movie and posed for this one photo where she ha this iconic "Don't hate me because I am beautiful!" pose with the hand in her face. Lady Gaga has also used that pose in her videos for "Paparazzi" and "Telephone". This is a campy as fuck pose and an essential one to beauty ad the perception and reception of it, at least in my mind. So enjoy!

Don't hate me because I am beautiful, its more a curse then a blessing!

"Music Minute" - From It's very hot in hell! to Jessie and the Toy Boys

Some time ago i crawled YouTube for entertainment when I was totally bored, and I have found some good stuff for you, which I will blog about in future blogs, so lets just have fun with this times "I watch it, so should you!" So get ready for some action!

What I found during my boring time on YouTube was a promotional video for the, sadly cancelled, second season of Kathy Griffins late night talk show on Bravo. And I found the music to be so good. So check it out here and tell me how much you loved it! And what I love even more about it, besides the fact it is so funny and sexy, is the music. Well with the help of some YouTube'rs I got the song an the video. Its by Jessie and the Toy Boys and its called "Lets Get Naughty". So check it out! I love it! The beat at the beginning is so hypnotic!

"What the heck is this?" - Queer Theory and Kathy Griffin Part 4

Counting toward the end of this series featuring queer theory, comedy and funny fierce female comedienne Kathy Griffin I really hope you got to enjoy the given essay. If not, well I can only tell you that you should at least know about it, since it has some great importance!

Okay the three page you will get this time will focus on he analysis of Kathy stirring up Emmy and religious controversy, Kathy and charity, a little bit about Kathy and the "dentist" (D-List fans will know what I am talking about, and if you don't know I either recommend reading Kathy's book, which I reviewed here, or watch her show "My Life on the D-List", which I reviewed here) and Kathy picking on celebs! But if you haven't read any of the earlier essay parts I recommend you read the parts 1, 2 and 3 first!

"I watch it, so should you!" - The new Hunger Games trailer!

I know I am about some hours late to that party, yeah yeah cry me a river, but I had some stuff to do and only get to this by now. So lets dive into it right now:

The new trailer only more and more emphasized the difference between the first movie and this one. The look is more sharp, less comic like, it is darker, more bigger than life (Like the Budget to the movies!) and absolutely more filled with pathos from the beginning on. So just you know: I want to watch this movie so bad, I would fuck a donkey! So if you haven't seen the trailer yet, watch it now here!

The new trailer features some great insight into the movie. It at first shows by the more darker style that Katniss and Peeta grew up and the situation has gained more and more tension.  We get a first view of the Victors village and see how fucked up it is, since no one really is there in district 12, the Capitol which looks more modern and urbanized and darker. Also the train on which they come is so beautiful and dark, befitting the atmosphere, and the genera sadness of the victors tour. Also we see Snow threatening Katniss with war. My most favorite scene is when we see the reaping in district 12 and Effie nearly cries and looks full of sorrow, since she is my fav character I love that she, as a part o the machine, starts to see its monster nature. Also we see the scenes with the burning outfits and training room sequences. What is not to love about that It is sooo good and really catches the tense atmosphere of the book. Well, no wonder since the director is Francis Lawrence, the genius who directed Lady Gagas Bad Romance video!

I'm gonna watch the shit out of the movie, I'm gonna watch it so often it will get sore! Oh and by the way check out my first fashion reviews I did of Catching Fire. I'm shure once the movie is out I'm gonna do a complete fashion review!

"I watch it, so should you!" - True Blood is making me loose my cool, well what has been left of it!

Those suckers know how to make an impression on me With that trailer that HBO released of what is to come in the remaining 5 True Blood episodes they have ensured me that they can take it up a notch each and every season!

And don't tell me it gets to outta there because this is a fucking vampire series, i mean what you expect? Stories about some goddamn boring everyday bogus? I don't think so! From what I can see the Vamps will fight back big times and it will get to a personal level for every character of ours! I think everyone of them will finally decide whether he truly wants to put #SaveTheVamps in their status or not. Pam gets out her fangs and starts to fight bad ass style as Eric. Tara will protect Jason, Jess is horrified and Eric pissed big times. And to all that Billith might rethink that Lillith thing, while Warlow and Sookie make some connection and she eventually thinks about being turned vamp! (Which I would totally love!) And last but not least. i still don't have a single fuck to give about that goddamn werewolf and shifter story line which got boring and boring with every time Alcide screaming "I am the pack master!" (And you must have lost you goddamn mind and brain while becoming it, since you act as stupid as Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney combined!) So I hope that the seventh season will be huge boom, like this one! And I could not really figure out who will be killed. Since they normally do not burry Vamps I think it  is going to be a human. I think it might either be Jason, Sam or Lafayette. So get into this shit, you wont regret it!

"What the heck is this?" . Queer Theory and Kathy Griffin Part 3

Well, well, well. It is already Part  that is o the go to you of my essay on Kathy Griffin giving Hollywood a dressing down, D-List style. How she does it? She uses queer theory! And you should definitely know about that one!

If you haven't read the first and the second part of this academic and comedic festival yet, i strongly advise you to do so right now! You can find the first to parts in the Academia category! So go, read, educate yourself and enjoy! If you have already read the first two parts just start and read the third part! This time I got the rest of the definition of what I call "The Hollywood Identity" and the beginning of my analysis of Griffins work! So enjoy!

"What the heck is this?" - Queer Theory and Kathy Griffin Part 2

Hello there! I hope you checked out the last part of this series since it is fucking good academic stuff! SO if you have not done so, go and do so right here on Icon Art Marilyn! What I am talking about? of course I am  talking about the Queer Studies essay I wrote on Kathy Griffin!

Last time I gave you the index page and the first 3 pages of this academic and comedic Bonanza about the fierce funny woman, now the next three are up! What is in there this time? Well it will be all about Queer as a theory and the beginning of defining what I call "The Hollywood Identity". So take out you library cards and put on your nerdy face! I am about to school you! (In a much less boring way than school is!)

"I Love Art!" - Enchanting Eyes

I haven't posted one of my drawings for a while, and I am sorry for that but actually I try to draw as much as possible but..

(1) there are so many other good things to blog about, as you can see, and (2) I am right now in the middle of the preparation for an important exam, so my time for drawing is a bit limited. But you will for sure be able to enjoy this one of her, the one and only Marilyn Monroe,  well at least I hope so!

Marilyn Monroe - Enchanting Eyes

I hope you can enjoy this one. When I drew it I was inspired by the iconic but pretty unknown pose Marilyn had while she was reading a book on a sofa She just  layed there and read a book. For me this is a perfect pose because it combines her overly sexual side as well as her sensible and intellectual side, which very often is put aside. And reducing Marilyn to a sex symbol is wrong, since she was so much more!

"What the heck is this?" - Queer Theory and Kathy Griffin Part 1

Well, I am sure some of you might have noticed that I am currently enrolled at a university an that I am a student. One of my major fields of interest and study are queer studies, gender studies, performance studies and camp studies. I think as a strong supporter of the LGBT IQA cause in any country, by the way congratulations to the people in England and Wales who just recently passed gay marriage and made the world a more equal and great place, and as a strong supporter of the feminist movement, the democratic movement, human right movement and every goddamn necessary and good movement out there it would be best to devote my studies to these causes.

So last semester I wrote an essay to finish my course in queer studies called "Kathy Griffin Deconstructing the Hollywood Identity - Queer in Use". This one cost me lost of time and compassion, but not only my love for fierce funny female Kathy and her D-List cause (Kathy: Lets face it, when you land in academia you definitely are no longer D-List!) made me do this but also my deep belief in the fact that we need queer studies in order to slowly change our society for the better! (And not only for the LGBT IQA cause!) So I am gonna give to you the first part of this essay, to show you a little bit of the work I am doing, and to get you guys out there interested in queer and comedy! And since it is a 6-7 thousand word essay, you will get it in parts.... (might be easier!) So here is the first part consisting of the Index and the first 3 pages! Forgive me if there are any typos in there, i have not corrected it once more after i gave it to my professor. But good thing is: I got a 1,7!

"Iconic Photography" - Nirvana meets RuPaul

Photos and photography are a part of how we keep memories and important moments in our life. With pictures we keep things from our past and preserve what we love. History in progress often is documented with photographs, some of these photographs have gone around the world and reached an iconic status of themselves. But some photos capture more then what meets the eye.

Such images might not be that iconic, and sometimes do not even go around the world. But things are that these images are very well able to transmit things on a whole other level. They create feelings and provide us with the certain feeling of the moment the image was captured. Since everyone of us has a digital camera, a smart phone or a tablet and takes photographs all the time, shares them in digital networks and makes them available for everyone, images with the certain qualities I described become more and more valuable. One of these images is from the 90's. Featured on this image are, the supermodel of the world and probably most famous drag queen of the world, RuPaul Charles and iconic, tragically died Nirvana member, Kurt Cobain. Also on the picture are the other members of Nirvana.

Of course I did not take the photographs. But the rights belong to whoever took these.

"Just in!" - HBO decides: True Blood will...

... go on! The official True Blood account on Facebook posted the following picture and announced that True Blood will be renewed for a seventh season!

Picture belongs to HBO.

So lets call it True Blood Day on Icon Art Marilyn! We are so excited!

"I watch it, so should you!" - True Blood Season 6 - What we know so far, halfway through the season!

So with yesterdays air of the fifth episode of True Blood's sixth season "Fuck the Pain Away" the season is halfway through. But what to make of season six, and all its superlatives, boredom and craziness so far?

Well concerning that it had fabulous five previous seasons the expectations were as high as Eric Northman can fly, especially since the Vampire authority was in ruins, 2000 year old ancient vampire Salome was staked, Russel - 3000 years old bastard - Edgington staked as well, Bill returning as Billith and Warlow on his way. What to make out of True Blood in season 6. Episode one interestingly entitled "Who Are You, Really?" did not really get fans what they wanted to. Hell to the yes it was exciting to see how everything goes, but clearly the episode was overly explaining for what has happened. There was some fire missing! Absolute Highlight of the episode turned out to be Pam, who tole the show with her one liners! Who could ever forget that hilarious scene with Pam and Tara at the beach, after they have escaped the vampire authority? And that great fight she and Nora had in the car:

Oh and we found out that Bill, Billith, Lillit or whatever the fuck you would call him can not be staked, or at least he doesn't die from it. Also in the episode: Sooki getting her house back from Eric, resending her invitation, Jessica sticking to Bill and Jason telling everything to a stranger in a car. Besides that Andy taking care of his fae children, and the Alcide and Sam story lines start to bore the shit put of me!

Episode two "The Sun" proved that there is a way to better the season, since it was not that fucking boring. If I think about it again: I have already reviewed this episode, so go and read all about it here.

Finally the series regained its charm with the release of episode three "You're No Good". Eric kidnaps Willa Burrel (It was about time he fought back, I  mean he is the oldest known vampire alive after Warlow!) Sookie's fae grandfather reminds her that she is fae royalty, Pam and Tara are not amused when Eric brings Willa to Fangtasia. They learn about the camp and leave Fangtasia for ever (?). Lafayette sticks to Sam, whose storyline is till find irritatingly annoying! Same counts for Alcide! While fea gramps discovees the fae strip club has been drunken empty by Warlow, Billth tries to withstand the sun and starts to burn! (Stupid you, you still are a vampire, and they have always been creatures of the night!) Meanwhile Eric and his posse  of Pam, Tara and Willa visit good old, she shcreams the shit out of ever season,

"I watch it, so should you!" - Reasons to love #TrueBlood

Okay this one is just a short, and quick reminder why to love HBO's True Blood! And also even one more reason to love Eric's progeny Pamela Swynford de Beaufort.

Whoever made this GIF I owe you big times! =)

"My Notebook" - Cover and 20 Things I am grateful for

I like to keep a notebook around me, and I have bought just a new notebook for my crazy ideas or my creative stuff. So in this new category called "My Notebook" I will give you some insight into my notebook, and my crazy ideas. So enjoy!

Here you got the cover:

And here 20 things I am grateful for:

"I read it, so should you!" - Jake Kiss, poetry worth kissing!

It has been a while since I tweeted my first tweet on Twitter. And as time went on I have discovered some pretty talented people around twitter. One of them is Jake Kiss, or as some of you know him on twitter as @50ShadesOfGaga. Beside our shared obsession of pop culture, everything Gaga and the arts like drawing, writing and designing we have found out that we are pretty #whoresome

What is even better then Jake and me sharing some obsessions in art and culture is that Jake is an excellent young poem writer, also he writes great short stories. But here I want to show you some of the poems which he wrote in 2012. Basically I will just put them here for you to read and enjoy!

So here is the first of the two poems I will give you to read:

LOVES SLAVE (GYPSY SOUL)

My heart is a traveller,
It always wanders,
Even though my mind still ponders,
A gypsy soul,
Too much that not even I can control,
From one to the next,
All I leave is bulldozed wrecks,
It's just my love's hex,
I am more ravenous than a Tyrannosaurus rex,
I'll crack you open and begin to dissect,
Before you realise I am far from perfect,
To me all I want is another shattered heart to collect,
And you are the one I select,
I'll rob you of all dignity and respect,
Before I too throw you in my bin of neglect,
Where we shall never again reconnect.
You're dead to me babe because I am just another one of love's lonely slaves forced forever to misbehave.
I say I love you... if only that was true,
But the day I come to,
I promise I will come straight back to you.

I like the poem very much since it is a perfect way to show how love enslaves us, how we are willing to be enslaved and how obsessed we are with the feeling and desire for it. Moreover the celebration of love as an obsession, which can be fake is so delightful to read. But that is just how I would put it.

"Music Minute" - She is back, massively!

Yeah she did it again, and whooped our sweet little asses by just releasing one photograph and some info referring to the release of ARTPOP. Of course we talk Gaga here. Whom else? Interesting is that Mother Monster, despite all the criticism she get from all over the place sometimes, really has been desperately missed!

MTV entitles that with the info about ARTPOP Gaga has been re-entered the music business and I quote "Gaga comes back to save pop... again!" If that is not a bitch slap in many artists faces! And they do right! I mean she has been absent for about 150 days and during this time period kept quite a low profile. Nearly no Twitter and no performances: well it is called recovery. But during this phase, and I quote once more:

"And when her activity stopped, so did the endless font of over-the-top proclamations, out-there fashions, and outspoken support of worthwhile causes. In short, she went silent, and whether you like her or not, you've got to admit that the entire music biz — and pop music in particular — has been pretty boring because of that."

So say what you want but not only MTV is hungry for Gaga to slay the charts with ARTPOP but also many others. You want prove? There you got some! And by the way: Yes pop music needs to be rescued once again, rescued from dull and boring sounds and not innovative artists.

"TV Series I am addicted to." - Pushing Daisies

I have started my new series from the category "I watch it, so should you!" "TV Series I am addicted to." some time ago. And at first I talked you in why I am so madly in love with "True Blood". But this time you will be introduced to "Pushing Daisies".

It has been some time since "Pushing Daisies" was on TV since it only has 2 seasons and just 22 episodes, which is pretty bad. And the worst is that nobody knew why they canceled the show since it's ratings were pretty good and the show since then has grown a huge fanbase.

Basically the show is about the pie-maker Ned who has the special ability that if he touches something dead it come to life again. If he touches it again it dies, forever! Thing is that if he touches a living creature and let it stay alive for more than 1 minute something else, with no connection to the thing alive, dies. But: if the pie-maker touches it it still will die forever. Since Ned has this restaurant called "The Pie Hole"and had some financial trouble Ned decides to engage in a partnership with "Emerson Cod" a private investigator. They clear up murder cases by waking up the dead for a minute and asking who killed the victim and for other tips. very often the murderer is not the one alleged but they still find the real murder. What gives the series a special twist is that Ned has re-lived his youth love Charlotte, or as he calls her: "Chuck" They fall madly in love, but can't touch each other. Torpeding their relationship is o pie waitress form the "Pie Hole" is Olive Snook (Played by Kristin Chennowith) who is madly in Love with Ned as well. And giving the series an even more genius twist is that Chucks aunts, who raised her, start to befriends with the "Pie Hole" crew, ned accidentally killed Chuck's father, Chucks can not see her aunts, Emerson has a daughter he has ever seen and Olive does not know about the magic finger of the pie-maker. Sounds cray cray? Yes! But it is so good.

My favorite characters are Chucks aunts Lilly and Vivienne, the former "Darling Mermaids" who were synchronized swimmers, until Lilly has been blinded on one eye whilst cleaning the cat toilet.  You can see a picture of them here. The tone of  and campy, the show is very upbeat, the visuals are amazing, the movie allegories heavy, the story funny and smart and the murder cases morbid, funny and great!

"I read it, so should you!" - Joan Rivers "I Hate Everyone... Starting With Me"

Picture belongs to Bob Bekian on Flickr, used under Creative
Commons license.

Okay I have to admit that it has been a while since I have presented a book to you, so I thought to give you a  book to read about, and then to read! And of course I want to share with you my collection of Joan Rivers books. And even if you don't like her you have to admit she is a good author, if you have read one of the books.

Joan Rivers is famous not only for her plastic surgery and comedy but especially for her style of humor. She is a comedienne who plays her humor from the side of funny hatred. generally hatred is not much funny, unless you master to give good reason for your hate and by good reason I mean funny ones! The book basically is divided into 13 chapters. Each and every chapter works to explain her hate towards certain groups. In my opinion the best chapters was "For the Children" where Joan makes fun of the fact that she hates children. She had hilarious subheadings ad her writing is shard as a razor knife.

What makes the book special is, that even if the theme is hate, Joan really keeps it positive and uplifting, which in my opinion is seldom, considered hate. And now I will give you a bit of my favorite part:

"I hate people who always find something nice to say about others. My husband, Edgar, was one of those people. I hate that kind of largesse. One day I ask him, "Hey, four eyes, what about John Wayne Gacy? He killed thirty-three boys and buried them under his house. What nice thing can you say about him? And Edgar said, "Well, he wasn't lazy. And he was a homeowner!"
